Craft Time!

During my first month of work, I've gotten to make a lot of new things. Which I love! I enjoy using my creativity (and let's be honest, I like having control and making my own things to work with). Between teaching and preparing for my classes (just today I taught about 90 kindergartners and preschoolers about germs and washing their hands!), I've been making lots of props for my classes as well as organizing the materials that we have to use.

The older version of this poster was super old, water stained, and the paper was cut horribly - Now, I think is is super cute!

I made this fake hard candies with card stock and cellophane for my First Aid for Little People and All Choked Up classes as an example of something people can choke on

Red Cross Clubs (at high/middle schools) can sell Malaria pins as a fundraiser for the Malaria initiative - I made this big version for a club recruiting table

I can't think of any good quotes from my week of Scrubby Bear hand washing classes from the kids, but today a little boy kept touching my leg. Oh little children! They are so funny! I love seeing them so excited about learning something new. It is so sweet.

Next week I get to teach a class about General Preparedness for disasters to 5th graders! I'm so excited for an older audience as well as a chance to teach something new (I've taught mostly hand washing so far)!

Also today, I had a fight with the duplicator (a super fast/cheap version of a copier) at work. It is kinda old and it kept beeping at me and telling me it had a paper jam. I got ink all over my fingers so I just went back to the normal copier. Maybe I'll try another day...

This week, my Sunday School students will get their Bibles blessed during church! Yay! And we are going to make bookmarks in Sunday School. I think everything with that is going well so far - the time goes by so quickly each week!
